As of May 2022, Google gradually removed the possibility of using the account master password for the Gmail SMTP service.

To bypass this new security policy, you need to:

• Go to the link https://myaccount.google.com/ and sign in with your credentials;
• Click on Security
• Scroll to the middle of the page and click on 2-Step Verification (which is mandatory);
• Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click App password;
• Select Other and enter a name of your choice (e.g. SMTP);
• Copy the system-generated password and enter it into the Wi5stars configuration.

The parameters for sending via SMTP are as follows:

• SMTP Server Address: smtp.gmail.com
• Secure Connection for SMTP: yes with TLS
• SMTP Port: 587
• Enable SMTP Authentication: Yes
• SMTP Username: your Email address
• SMTP Password: your newly generated password
